BGC Nassau County News

Congratulations to February Youths of the Month!

Our Roberts Center Youth of the Month, Paola Garcia is an 11-year old 5th grader at Emma Love Hardee Elementary School. This fun and energetic young lady has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County since 2017. She loves coming to the Club and being surrounded by her friends and the fun-filled environment. Ms. Garcia was chosen as Youth of the Month for her positive attitude and demonstrating a daily focus on achievement. She is practicing to become a professional skateboarder. A few of her favorite things: the color red, the band BTS, the book Demigod Diaries, and math class. And the secret is out, this outstanding student’s hidden talent is singing!

A member of our Miller Club, Madison Caknupp is intelligent beyond her 7 years of age. She is well-spoken and carries on conversations that showcase her aptitude and skills. Madison’s twin brother, Mason, was awarded Youth of the Month for November, making this the first time that two siblings have received this recognition within the same school year. Madison is funny, outgoing and can be counted on to get the job done right when she volunteers in all the program areas at the Club. Madison loves to read and is considered a very good speller. Her two favorite areas at the Club are gym and the tech lab when she’s not in the Learning Zone. She’s already exhibiting qualities of a great leader and goes one hundred percent in everything she does. We can’t wait to see her achieve her dream of being a Naval Officer on a submarine some day!
