Ariya Gotschall is a nine-year-old in the 4th grade at Yulee Elementary School and has been a member at Miller Freedom Center since October. Ariya really likes the The Learning Zone at the club because she enjoys learning about emotions. She also enjoys expressing her emotions and giving feedback on her personal feelings. Swimming is the sport Ariya likes the most. Her favorite musical performer is Rhianna and her favorite book is ‘Brown Girl Dreaming’ by Jacqueline Woodson. Ariya likes the color pastel pink and her favorite subject in school is math. Ariyatells us she has a hidden talent – she does voice overs of different movie characters!

Ariya was chosen as Youth of the Month for March because she is always smiling, kind, and she loves learning new things at the club as well as the meals provided.

Darolyn Ford is a nine-year-old in the 4th grade at Yulee Elementary School and attends Miller Freedom Center. Darolyn is a first year member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County. Her favorite program is Sports and Recreation, where she enjoys playing a variety of games, especially basketball. Among Darolyn’s favorites are the color purple and listening to Phebe Thunderman sing on The Thundermans. She loves hanging out with her friends, and her favorite subject in school is Art. She has a hidden talent – performing cartwheels! Darolyn loves coming to the Boys & Girls Club, and it shows in her willingness to always follow directions and her eagerness to learn. She is an awesome club member! Way to go, Darolyn!

Cashes Fernandez is a nine-year-old in the 4th grade at Wildlight Elementary School and has been a Miller Freedom Center club member for a year.  His favorite program is Sports and Recreation, and he really enjoys playing basketball and football with his friends. Cashes’ favorite color is green, and his favorite athlete is Kobe Bryant. Cashes loves to read, and does so at a high school level! His current favorite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid.  Cashes always has a positive attitude and is eager to learn new things. He is a great role model for his peers. Congratulations, Cashes!

Ella Huffman is a nine-year-old in the 4th grade at Yulee Elementary School and attends Miller Freedom Center. Ella has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County since August of 2018. When Ella was asked what her favorite program at Miller Club is, she responded that she likes S.M.A.R.T. Girls the best because it teaches how to make good choices and she gets to do a lot of girly things! As for hobbies, Ella likes gymnastics and playing the ukulele. She enjoys listening to reggae and the music of Bob Marley and she plays the drums! Some of Ella’s favorites include the color black, books by Mo Willems, Our Diaries, track and math.

Emma Godfrey is an eleven-year-old in the 5th grade at Yulee Elementary School and attends Miller Freedom Center. Emma has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County since August of 2019. When Emma was asked what her favorite program at Miller Club is, she responded that she enjoys all the programs, but S.M.A.R.T. Moves is her favorite because it teaches how to make good choices and helps with her self-esteem. Emma enjoys country music, the singer/songwriter Morgan Wallen, Diamond Painting, Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, and soccer. As for school, Emma says math is her favorite subject.

Diego Acevedo is a ten-year-old in 5th grade at Yulee Elementary School and attends Miller Freedom Center. Diego has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County since 2018. Basketball is Diego’s favorite hobby and blue is his favorite color. Another sport Diego enjoys is baseball and he can throw the ball at a very impressive speed. His favorite athlete is Joe Jackson. He also likes The Rolling Stones, author Percy Jackson and history class. Diego has three programs that he particularly likes at the club and those are Sports, Technology Lab and the Learning Zone.

Dylan Hrivnak is 10 years old and in the 5th grade at Wildlight Elementary. Dylan’s favorite programs at Miller Freedom Center are technology lab and he loves the S.T.E.M. program. His favorite color is black! Dylan enjoys classical music, Harry Potter books and football. Math is definitely his favorite subject in school. Dylan loves attending Miller Club and participates in all available activities. He is always respectful of others and very willing to help.

Jaxson Ferch is 8 years old and in the 3rd grade at Yulee Primary School. Jaxson’s favorites program at Miller Freedom Center are Sports Fitness & Recreation and he enjoys the basketball activities. His favorite color is purple and he enjoys bike riding and soccer as well as reading Dog man books. Jaxson’s favorite subject in school is math. Jaxson’s peers at the Miller Club love spending time with him. He is a leader of the future!

Taylor Crum is 11 years old and in the fifth grade at Yulee Elementary. Taylor’s favorite program at Miller Freedom Center is the S.M.A.R.T. Girls program and she loves the activities. Her favorite color is blue and she enjoys crochet as a hobby. Taylor likes pop music and her favorite subject in school is math. She also likes to play soccer.
