Meyli is a 7 year-old 2nd grader who attends Southside Elementary.  She has 1 older brother. She’s recently became a BGCN club member.  Meyli’s favorite program at BGCN is the Arts.  In addition, Meyli has no favorite sport but, loves playing flag tag. Her favorite color is black. When not studying her favorite subject of Math, Meyli enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family. Her favorite singer is Selena “because she’s pretty and her music is good”, Meyli says. Meyli loves to read, and her favorite book is ‘Baby Mouse’.  She aspires to be a doctor when she grows up.

Meyli was selected as Youth of the Month of March because she slowly coming out of her shell and setting examples for all of her peers. Meyli is always positive, caring and supportive!

Age: 8

Steven is an 8 year-old 3rd grader who attends Emma Love Hardee Elementary School.  He has 1 sibling. He’s recently became a BGCN club member in 2022.  Steven’s favorite program here is recreation and fitness activities also known as Triple Play Sports. Steven’s favorite sport is soccer but loves to cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars. When not studying his favorite subject of Math, Steven other favorites include the color blue, and also, the ‘Gumball’ book series. Steven’s has not discovered his hidden talent yet.

Steven was selected as Youth of the Month for February because he is super polite, and always has a positive attitude.  Steven puts in the extra work to remember his multiplication which makes him a great role model for both older and younger children, and such a fantastic kid!

Payton Rowe is a seven-year-old in the 2nd grade at Southside Elementary School and attends Roberts Learning and Achievement Center. Payton has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County for 1 ½ years. When Payton was asked what her favorite program at Roberts Club is, she responded that she is most fond of doing arts and crafts projects. Payton loves to play football, and in school, her best subject is math. Some of Payton’s favorites include the colors blue and purple, and music by Jack Harlow. Payton enjoys hanging out with her friends at the club and learning new things. Her positivity and sunny smile make her a great choice for Youth of the Month. Congratulations, Payton!

Ford Weldon is a seven-year-old in the 2nd grade at Southside Elementary School. Ford has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County since August. Ford loves swimming, and his favorite colors are black, yellow and gray. He excels at math, enjoys football, and reading books about war. His favorite band is 7 Nation Army. Since becoming a member, Ford has demonstrated the Boys & Girls Clubs core values and has been an asset to the Roberts Club membership. Way to go, Ford!

Hudson is an 8 year-old 2nd grader who attends Southside Elementary School. He has 1 sister and 1 brother; both of whom are club members as well. He’s been a BGCN club member for 2 years.  Hudson’s favorite program here is recreation and fitness activities. Hudson’s favorite sport is football. When not studying his favorite subject of Math, Hudson enjoys listening to his favorite song “Before You Go”. Hudson says, “it reminds me of my dog, Jack. Other favorites of Hudson’s include the color red, and the ‘I Survived’ book series. Hudson’s hidden talent is his double-jointed thumb. 

Hudson was selected as Youth of the Month because he is super helpful, and always has a cheery attitude. Hudson is a great role model for both older and younger children, and such a great kid!

Age: 9

Ashley is a 9 year-old 3^rd grader who attends Emma Love Hardee Elementary School. She has 1 sister, and has been a BGCN club member since 2019. Ashley’s favorite program at BGCN is sports, because members “get to do a lot of fun activities”. In addition, Ashley’s favorite sport is soccer, and her favorite color is black.  When not studying her favorite subject of Math, Ashley enjoys listening to music and spending time with her family. Her favorite singer is Dixie D’Amelio “because she’s pretty and her music is good”, Ashley says.  Ashley loves to read, and her favorite book is ‘Five Worlds’.  She says her hidden talent is singing.

Ashley was selected as Youth of the Month because every time someone needs help at the club, she is the first to volunteer to help a member or staff. Ashley is always positive, sweet, and supportive.

Kennedy Lampkins is a seven-year-old in the 2nd grade at Southside Elementary School and has been a member at Roberts Learning & Achievement Center since August of 2021. Kennedy really likes the fun activities in the Sports and Fitness & Recreation programs at the club. She loves to dance, and her favorite sport is cheerleading. Kennedy’s musical interests include the classics, her school band and Ariana Grande. Pete the Cat books are top on her reading list. Kennedy comes from a big family with 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Her favorite athlete is her brother Khamari. Kennedy tells us coming to the club is fun!

School: Fernandina Beach Middle School
Grade: 6th
Age: 11

Connor Melhorn is an eleven-year-old in the 6th grade at Fernandina Beach Middle School and has been a member at Roberts Learning & Achievement Center since August of 2017. Connor really likes working on computers and the Technology program is his favorite at the club. Among other favorites, Connor enjoys rock music, the band Shinedown, and playing the guitar. He also enjoys drawing as a hobby and blue is his favorite color. Connor loves to read in school and the novels about Percy Jackson & The Olympians are his top choice. As for his favorite sport, Connor says it’s baseball.

Khloe Anabella Brand is a nine-year-old in the 3rd grade at Emma Love Hardee Elementary. She has been a member at Roberts Learning & Achievement Center since August of 2019. Of the programs Khloe participates in at the club, “MyOn: Reading is Fun” is her favorite and reading is her favorite subject at school as well. Among other favorites, Khloe loves the color pastel yellow and enjoys dancing and pop music. In her free time, she enjoys playing with her cousins. Khloe tells us that she likes to come to the Boys & Girls Club because she feels safe and has fun.
