Congratulations to March Youths of the Month!
Isaiah Ordonez is a 7-year old Southside Elementary School first grader who has been a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County since 2020. His favorite activity at the Club is anything to do with sports, fitness, and recreation, “I like to play sports,” he says. His favorite sport is football and he says his favorite athlete is his brother because he always learns from him. One of his hidden talents is that he can do a Russian Split! When he’s not reading about superheroes or playing outside, you can find Isaiah working on his math homework and even helping other members with theirs. Our staff highlighted Isaiah this month because he’s known as the “smiling charmer” and always has kind words of encouragement for his fellow members.
Carstin Russell is a 10-year old Yulee Elementary student. Carstin has four siblings and loves coming to the Club to play in the gym. While he claims not to have a hidden talent, we know he is a remarkable soccer player and a huge sports fan. One of his favorite things to do at the Club is to play soccer or football on the field at Miller Freedom Center. While COVID has prevented huddles, Carstin and his friends are still out on the field staying six feet apart and playing hard! When he’s not playing or watching sports, Carstin loves learning about science and reading Harry Potter. Club staff picked Carstin this month for his love of being part of the team.
