Joan Sheppard, Resource Development Committee

Joan is a former IT professional who worked in the telecommunications industry and specialized in software development and customer network management. She has lived in the area for over 25 years and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Friends of the Fernandina Beach Library and Boys & Girls Clubs of Nassau County.

In Joan’s words…

I am fortunate to have grown up in a healthy family environment. Many of today’s youth are not afforded that same opportunity and face more serious challenges both at home and school. Supporting Boys & Girls Clubs offers me a way to give back and provide local youth with opportunities to successfully meet the challenges they face every day. We do this through our after-school and summer camp programs where members experience safe facilities, caring adults, and robust and fun activities in a variety of areas. We want our youth to graduate high school and choose a future path to become productive, caring and responsible citizens.
